Kentucky Highway 62
Bombed through the campsite at 8 am and on the 62 West, headed for Lexington. Rode through the densest fog I've seen in years covering the highway. Wanted to stop and take a pic but thought it too risky with us being mostly invisible. Ken snapped a road shot as the fog lifted.

Finally found a McD's just outside Lexington and I hung out my washed clothing to dry on my bike.

Hwy 62 runs East West through Kentucky and it's a sublime ride on a Sunday morning. Hundreds of churches (i'm not exaggerating) along the route, filled with the faithful from 9 till noon. Folks take their church serious around these parts.
Gentle rolling curves, long hilly farmland stretches, quaint old time village after village. At one of them a town square with some big signs and chalk... "Before I die..."

I try to take it one day at a time...

I should take more pictures I suppose, but the road always calls. Had to stop at the Wild Turkey distillery sign though. Never tried the stuff but here's where they make it. Right next to a Baptist Church.

Very hot today, I have no idea the temp but must be close to 30 degrees. Found a little shade, downed a Red Bull and stretched myself out for a few minutes.

Nothing like dead hangs off a beam, vertebrae popping, to make ya feel like a new man.
Tonight we camp at Grand Rivers, KY. A beautiful little site, sweet cold showers, thousands of croaking tree frogs composing a remarkably loud chorus. Fireflies dance outside my tent screen. Tomorrow Ken rides north for the border and I'll see where the road takes the Crow and I...
