The Biker And The Crow
Hello. My name is Rod. I live on Vancouver Island. From time to time I get on my Triumph motorcycle and get completely lost.

This is my motorcycle, the day I brought it home. It’s a 2014 Triumph Scrambler.

It was blue. Sometimes, in certain light, it looked purple. Which was weird. Plus, the paint scratched easily.
So I got a couple of cans of this stuff.

After driveway paint-job, a new pipe and getting rid of a bunch of shiny bits, it looked like this:

One day I was riding through the countryside and a crow started flying alongside me. I slowed down and we stared at one another for a while. You can’t outstare a crow.
I think it was looking at the bike though.

And then it came to me that I should probably give the bike a name.
When I said the name ‘The Crow’ the bike seemed to snort a bit louder and then it smiled at me.
So that was that.
In June, 2015 I took a little 1500km scoot through the Cascade loop in WA, up through Osoyoos, to Pemberton, Whistler and back to the Island.
Here’s The Crow in Winthrop, WA testing my setup for the semi cross-continent ride in August 2015.

Aside from the standard bike, I have equipped it with:
Cyclops Motorsports 3600 Lumen LED headlight bulb (!!!)
Vision-X accessory lights
Renntec rear rack
Wolfman Tank Bag
DrySpec 40L bag
Ortlieb 20L waterproof side pannier
1.75L Rotopax gasoline tank
Centerstand & crash bar
Dart Flyscreen
August 2015 I’m flying my motorcycle across Canada on Air Canada, with me on the plane, from Vancouver to Toronto.
I’ll be blogging the adventure here, mostly because I haven’t been able to find anyone who has taken their bike on Air Canada across Canada … and that, my friends, will just be the start of the journey.
